Seeking members for Local Advisory Committees in Bay of Plenty, Manawatū-Whanganui, Tairāwhiti and Chatham Islands
As part of Fire and Emergency’s journey towards having a Local Advisory Committee (LAC) in every area across the country, recruitment is underway for members of two new LACs in Bay of Plenty and Manawatū-Whanganui. We’re also looking for new members to join our existing Tairāwhiti and Chatham Islands LACs.
Tairāwhiti and Chatham Islands applications close on 28 July 2024.
Bay of Plenty and Manawatū-Whanganui applications close on 11 August 2024.
If you think you may know someone who may be interested in joining one of our new committees in these areas, please consider sharing this opportunity with them. More information about LACs, what the role involves, and how to apply is on our website: www.fireandemergency.nz/LACs(external link)
Thanks in advance for your support.
What are Local Advisory Committees?
What we’re looking for
To join these committees, we’re seeking applicants with governance and/or strategic management experience, who are well-connected and respected within diverse community and industry groups and able to provide deeper insights into their views and concerns. This is an important opportunity for communities to have a voice in how we deliver Fire and Emergency’s services locally.
We know some of the risks faced by our local communities and industries, but we need local people with the networks, knowledge and experience to help us build a full picture.
If you know business and community leaders in Bay of Plenty, Manawatū-Whanganui, Tairāwhiti or Chatham Islands that might be interested, please encourage them to find out more on www.fireandemergency.nz/LACs(external link)
