Wellington Operational Support Unit advise of the passing of Ron Lennon.

Ronald Dereck Lennon served as member of the Wellington Fire Service Support Unit from 1998 to 2013, holding the rank of Fire Officer in the unit from 2000 to 2013. He was a very active member of the Unit, using his engineering skills to design and manufacture various pieces of equipment to enhance the capabilities of the Unit, including developing an innovative improvised dam which is still in use with the Unit today. Upon retirement he was elected as a Life Honorary Member.

He also served with the Todd (Mitsubishi) Motors Industrial Fire Brigade from 1989 to 1998, holding the rank of Chief Fire Officer.

A service will be held at Ninness Funeral Home, Porirua, at 10am on Friday 30 August. Fire and Emergency personnel should attend in service dress, no caps.
