Access to email, internet, portal and SMS : Update 21 March 2018
We have continued to work with Microsoft, an external digital security advisor, plus our ICT experts today. This afternoon we agreed two major activities that must be completed by midday Friday 23 which will inform our next steps.
The first activity is a set of changes recommended by the external security advisor. The second activity, to be run in parallel, is for the ICT team and Microsoft to test the ability to turn on the verification software with the current web mail client.
Based on the two activities above, a decision will be made on Friday about how best to restore remote access web mail. We will update you on Friday afternoon on the decision.
In the meantime, all personnel who are affected can access work emails and the Portal from devices located on-station, in an Area Office, at NHQ or at home if they have a FENZ issued laptop that has Windows 10.
Thank you for your patience. We do empathise that the lack of remote email is a frustration and we are working as quickly as we can to restore the service.
