The Australasian Policy and Emergency Services Games (AP&ES Games) based in Rotorua start this Friday! We have approximately 300 Fire and Emergency personnel registered, and 2,800 competitors overall, so it will be a significant event. This is the first time the Games have been based in New Zealand since 2012.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of registrations, the Fire Challenge Race and the Fire Truck Pull competitions from this year’s Games have had to be withdrawn. While this is disappointing, the remainder of the events will be going ahead. For those who had registered for these events, you should have received an email directly from the Games.

The Games will bring together up to 5000 emergency services competitors from across Australia and New Zealand. They’ll provide an opportunity to build camaraderie in what has been a very tough few years. They’ll also promote a healthy lifestyle through participation in sport, and heighten the public's awareness of police and emergency services.

While registrations are closed, you can read more about the Games on the website(external link).

If you’re attending the Games and haven’t already joined the Fire and Emergency Facebook group created for the event, you can join it here.(external link)
