The Working Safely in Water Project seeks to equip personnel with the skills, tools and knowledge needed to work safely in water.

The establishment of Specialist Water Response Teams that was earmarked for a later phase of the project has been brought forward in the work programme.

The project team is calling for expressions of interest for the first three teams. These will provide the start of the in-water response capability for Fire and Emergency and provide a pool of trainers to help upskill the wider Fire and Emergency organisation.
