Registrations for the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games (AP&ES Games) held in Rotorua from 4-11 March 2022 in Rotorua are now open.

Competitors can register on the AP&ES Games website(external link). Registration will usually cost $80 plus a fee specific to your sport, but with the Super Early Bird special pricing you can get a 20% discount on the registration fee until 22 August. To take advantage of the discount, you need to enter "SUPEREARLY" when you register.

From 23 August to 15 November, a 10% discount will be offered and after this time, registrations will be full price. If you wish to take part, you will need to cover any costs and schedule your attendance around work or take leave.

The AP&ES Games will bring together up to 5000 emergency services competitors from across Australia and New Zealand. There are over 60 sports on offer, and you can find the full list of these on the AP&ES Games website(external link). Sports like golf, white-water rafting and surfing are expected to fill up quickly and once they are full, they are full.

The Games are an opportunity to build camaraderie and promote a healthy lifestyle through participation in sport, while heightening the public's awareness of police and emergency services. They give us all something to really look forward to during what has been a tough time for many.

The Police have typically dominated the AP&ES Games in the past, so we’d love more of our people to get involved. The Games are open to all of our people, including both current and retired staff and volunteers. There are even firefighting specific sports!
