Re-initiating Unit Standards Data Import back into Learning Station

Fire and Emergency is working with the Learning Station vendor to re-initiate the uploading of the NZQA Unit Standards records into Learning Station.  

This means that you will be able to view records for Unit Standards that Fire and Emergency offers. By December 2024, 95% of these records will be available and will span the period between 1993 and July 2024. The rest will be uploaded in February 2025 and the Learning Technologies team will continue to update the records as you are awarded new Unit Standards in the future. 

The uploading of the records will commence in the second week of November 2024. During this time, learners might see some changes to their Unit Standards records while this work is taking place. We will update you on the status by the 20th of December 2024. 

How do I find my learning records including Unit Standards records? 

Once you go into the Learner dashboard and navigate to your training transcript, you will be able to see your training records. If you click on the Unit Standard activity, you’ll be able to see the version you’ve completed. The Unit Standards naming convention has now been changed and it starts with 'US' followed by number.

As this work is happening, there might be instances when you will observe the following on your Learning Station training transcript:

Your Unit Standards records contain the word 'old'.

Reason - This is as a result of the vendor working through the process of uploading your Unit Standards records and cleaning out the old records.

Solution - These will be cleared removed by the vendor.

You cannot find your past Unit Standards records.

Reason 1 - The Unit Standards records are being updated at that moment.

Solution 1 - Check your transcript after 24 hours.

Reason 2 - The Unit Standards records' naming convention has changed. Instead of starting with a number, it now contains the letters US at the beginning e.g., US 1234.

Solution 2 - Look out for records starting with US. Alternatively use US to search the record. This is by pressing the Control key and letter F together on the keyboard and in the resulting window, type US and then the rest of the Unit Standard number. Finally, press the Enter key on the keyboard to find the record.
