The consultation proposal on the scope and functions of the permanent Behaviour and Conduct Office (BCO) closes this week at 5pm on Thursday 28 January 2021.

We encourage you all to have your say. Thank you to everyone who has already provided feedback.

The Behaviour and Conduct Office is the internal mechanism for resolving complaints about unwanted behaviour at Fire and Emergency. It is available to all our people and members of the public.

Broadly, we are proposing the BCO would be a self-contained team with its own dedicated people accountable for managing, investigating and resolving all complaints of unwanted behaviour. It would also have a proactive education function to raise awareness and embed values-based behaviour.

More information about the permanent BCO consultation proposal and how to provide feedback is available here.[Note: this link was removed wehn the permanent BCO office announcements were published here]

Everyone’s feedback, as always, is valued and appreciated.  By focusing on prevention and education we hope to build a strong culture where unwanted behaviour is stopped before it starts, and everyone is safe, welcome and included.
