Our team in NSW sing a waiata to say thank you to local supermarket
Our Incident Management Team deployed to Parkes, New South Wales to assist with the severe flooding is preparing to return to New Zealand and they will be replaced by a second rotation arriving in NSW this Thursday, 24 November.
The team has had many visitors over the last few days including Minister for Emergency Services Murray Watt, the Co-ordinator General of NEMA Brendan Moon, Parkes Mayor Ken Keith, and NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns.
Parkes Woolworths generously donated a significant amount in supplies to a neighbouring Incident Management Team in the town of Lachlan. Our team visited the supermarket to say thank you and sang a waiata https://www.facebook.com/nswseslachlanregion/videos/1564003380692629/(external link)
The team gained better situational awareness from a helicopter flight which was particularly helpful for planning for the towns of Euabalong and Condobolin. They also updated warnings for Forbes, Condobolin, Euabalong and Jemalong and created a visual overview of the Lachlan River flooding [PDF, 262 KB].
They continue to build the IMT, get resources to where they need to go, and plan operations out for the next few weeks.
