Our 2021 People Survey is now live and you should have received your AskYourTeam link to take part.

Our People Survey is one of the key ways we get your thoughts on how you think we’re doing as an organisation and where we can improve.

There are two separate surveys, one for employees and one for volunteers. If you are an employee as well as a Fire and Emergency volunteer, you can answer both surveys. There are 36 employee and 38 volunteer questions.

There a few more questions this year around Kaupapa Māori and Hiwa-i-te-rangi (Māori Outcomes Programme). Hiwa-i-te-rangi brings to life our commitment of working with Māori as tangata whenua which involves increasing the cultural capabilities of our people and strengthening relationships with iwi and Māori.

The survey will take around 15 minutes. You don’t have to complete it in one sitting, you can do part of the survey, just save it each time before you exit. Remember to submit it before the survey closes at 5pm on 16 April 2021.

AskYourTeam is the independent organisation that is running and analysing our survey. The survey results will help our leaders understand their people’s views so they can better support them. The survey is confidential which means we will not be able to identify people unless they explicitly choose to identify themselves.

Once the survey closes, all responses will be collated. Then we’ll compare this to our benchmark from our previous survey to see what we’re doing well, areas for improvement and share the results with our people. See what progress we have made on the key themes from 2020 survey on the portal(external link).

If you haven’t received a link to the survey, please check your Fire and Emergency email. If you’re a volunteer also check your personal email. If you do not have a link please contact the Organisational Development team at peoplesurveys@fireandemergency.nz

We are committed to using these People Survey results to implement real change as we move the organisation forward, so please take part. Your voice is crucial to ensuring we are making the right changes to become the best organisation that we can be.
