People are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to hear your views. Our third People Survey will launch next week, running from 23 March to 16 April 2021.

It is one of the key ways you can have your say about how Fire and Emergency New Zealand is doing and how we can make our organisation the best it can be.

There are two separate surveys, one for employees and one for volunteers. If you are an employee as well as a Fire and Emergency volunteer, you can answer both surveys. There are 36 employee and 38 volunteer questions and it will take around 15 minutes.

There a few more questions this year around Kaupapa Māori and Hiwa-i-te-rangi (Māori Outcomes Programme). Hiwa-i-te-rangi brings to life our commitment of working with Māori as tangata whenua which involves increasing the cultural capabilities of our people and strengthening relationships with iwi and Māori.

You will receive a link to take part in the survey from AskYourTeam. AskYourTeam is the independent organisation that is running and analysing our survey. The survey results will help our leaders understand people’s views so we can better support our people. The survey is confidential which means we will not be able to identify you unless you explicitly choose identify yourself. Results will not be shared with leaders where there are less than five responses for that team.

The findings from last year’s survey can be found on the Portal(external link). 2019 results can also be found on the Portal(external link).

We are committed to using the People Survey results to implement real change as we move the organisation forward. So please take part. Your voice is crucial to ensuring we are making the right changes to become the best organisation that we can be.
