NHQ Christmas shut down period 2021/22
This year, NHQ will close at 5pm on Friday 24 December and will re-open on Friday 7 January 2022.
NHQ reopening on Friday 7th January is an altered approach than what has been the case for the last few years. People are encouraged to have Friday 7 January 2022 off on annual leave to have a good break, but this gives people an opportunity to have a reorganisation/catch-up/tidy up day if they wish to do so.
Details of Christmas break dates for this year are as follows:
Only those that must be in for legitimate operational reasons will be given permission to do so. Regions will be made aware of this closedown and will adopt, adapt or otherwise, depending on the needs of the Region and District operational requirements at their discretion.
Those that are rostered ‘on-call’ on a formal roster will not be required to go on leave for the period they are on call. Anyone else that has a genuine and pressing reason to work during this period must apply to their manager for an exemption, which must be approved by the relevant DCE.
NHQ reception will also be closed during this period, reopening on 10 January.
Christmas/New Year payroll processing 2020/21
All documentation for processing by payroll for December/January must be with the payroll team no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 21 December 2021.
Please notify payroll of any leavers and new employees as soon as possible, to ensure that payments are processed without disruption to the employees.
Requests for payroll processing that don’t meet this close-off deadline will need to be held over for the pay run of 26 January 2022.
As Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall directly before payday, the payment that is due to be paid on 29 December 2021 will be paid early on Friday, 24 December 2021. The following pay date of 12 January 2022 is unchanged.
The SMS download for the payrun due on 29 December 2021 will be processed on Thursday, 23 December 2021 – 1 day earlier than usual. This will mean that any additional hours, overtime or allowances claimed from Thursday, 23 December until Wednesday, 29 December will not be paid until the following pay run due to be paid on 12 January 2022.
