Happy New Year from the team at Beacon.

As you all may have noticed, Beacon has been on a bit of a hiatus, however, we will be back up and running with an exciting new Beacon Challenge coming very soon.

One of our amazing Senior Firefighters from New Plymouth submitted a Beacon idea for a Fire and Emergency Podcast, and we're pleased to say this idea has been approved and we are running a three-episode Podcast pilot with an exciting approach. We want to crowdsource the content from YOU, our people operating on the frontline.

We aim to capture what it means to be a firefighter in New Zealand. With so many great people across our organisation, we know there’s a wealth of amazing stories out there just waiting to be told. These stories have the power to connect us and generate awareness of who we are and what we do collectively as Fire and Emergency.

We're looking for ideas submitted to Beacon for stories that are engaging and interesting, which reference our history or recent deployments and are respectful to all our people.

The Fire and Emergency Podcast Beacon Challenge officially launches on the 18 March and further instructions will follow so keep an eye on the Portal, local newsletters or Facebook for more details closer to the time.
