Message from our Chair: Change to Fire and Emergency Board

I would like to advise you that Gwen Tepania-Palmer’s term on the Fire and Emergency Board will be concluding shortly. Hon. Jan Tinetti has now commenced the process to seek expressions of interest for her replacement. Applications close mid-May. I will update you again once the Minister has confirmed an appointment.

Gwen, of Te Aupouri, Ngāti Kahu and Ngāti Paoa Tainui decent, has been a valued member of the Board since her appointment in October 2019. We have benefitted greatly from her knowledge of te ao Māori, her strong community connections and her health sector experience. The Board will more formally acknowledge Gwen’s contribution to Fire and Emergency at the conclusion on her term.
