Pokeno Volunteer Fire Brigade advises of the passing of Senior Firefighter Lindsay McIntosh on 21 July 2021.

Lindsay began his firefighting days in Auckland before moving to Wellington in 1999 and joining the Petone Volunteer Fire Brigade. In 2006 he transferred to Wainuiomata where he served until 2017. He then moved back to Auckland and transferred to the Mercer Volunteer Fire Brigade (which was relocated and became the Pokeno Volunteer Fire Brigade). 

A celebration of Lindsay's life will be held at 2pm on Friday 30 July 2021 at LaValla Estate in Tuakau(external link) (this will be live-streamed at 2pm on Friday 30 July 2021(external link)) with a reception following at Pokeno Fire Station(external link) where he will receive his final call.

Fire and Emergency personnel attending are asked to wear full undress uniform with service medals, no caps.
