We’re upgrading Learning Station, Fire and Emergency’s online training and education hub.

This upgrade will feature improvements to Learning Station’s navigation making it easier to find what you are looking for.

What should I expect?

Learning Station will be unavailable on Sunday 13 March between 4.30 am and 10.30 am while we work with our vendor to complete this upgrade. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Following the outage, the Portal Quicklink, the shortcut on Fire and Emergency computer desktops and the URL https://learningstation2.fireandemergency.nz(external link) will continue to take you to the site, with log-on enabled via your Fire and Emergency account details. All of the same resources and records will be available, and you’ll be able to do everything you can do now.

What’s changing?

We have made the menus easier to find and navigate. These changes are detailed below.

Currently

After Sunday, the header will now feature words rather than icons for Self and Administration (if you have admin access). These will also switch to dropdown menus which are searchable.

The upgrade adds a menu on the left-hand side that contains links to key locations on Learning Station, including the catalogue and your training transcript.

After the update

There will also be an improved search function at the top-right hand corner of the page, which you can see above.

The ability to search in-menu is a key new feature, which should help reduce the amount of time spent working through dropdown menus.
