We’re upgrading Learning Station(external link), Fire and Emergency’s online training and education hub.

This upgrade will move Learning Station to the latest version of the platform. This will ensure we can take advantage of all the latest features and functionality as soon as they are available.

What should I expect?

Learning Station will be unavailable on Sunday 14 November between 3 am and 11 am while we work with our vendor to complete this upgrade. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Following the outage, the Portal Quicklink, the shortcut on Fire and Emergency computer desktops and the URL https://learningstation2.fireandemergency.nz(external link) will continue to take you to the site, with log-on enabled via your Fire and Emergency account details. All of the same resources and records will be available, and you’ll be able to do everything you can do now.

Browser support

Microsoft Edge Chromium is the supported browser for Learning Station on Fire and Emergency computers. ICT can no longer guarantee support on other browsers.

The preferred browsers for accessing Learning Station via personal computers are the latest versions of Edge Chromium and Chrome (both of which are freely available to download and install on both Windows and Apple computers). The Education Technologies team will support the use of these browsers on personal computers on a best efforts’ basis.

You can also access Learning Station using the pre-installed browsers on the following tablets. Please note that some e-learning may not function correctly on tablets and all tablet support will be on a best efforts’ basis.

  • iPad with iOS 13.x and 14.x
  • Android 9.x and 10.x
  • Windows 10.x (Surface Pro and Laptops)

We hope to make Learning Station and some e-learning accessible on mobile devices via a mobile application soon.
