The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) examinations are an opportunity to gain accredited qualifications and meet academic requirements for IFE membership at different grades.

The exams assess your knowledge and understanding at different levels. The qualifications are internationally recognised as an academic achievement in fire science and engineering.

The IFE offers four qualifications:

  • IFE Level 2 Certificate in Fire Science, Operations and Safety
  • IFE Level 3 Certificate in Fire Engineering Science, Operations, Fire Safety and Management
  • IFE Level 3 Diploma in Fire Engineering Science, Fire Safety, Fire Service Operations & Incident Command, Aviation Fire Operations, Leadership & Management in Fire and Rescue, Fire Investigation
  • Level 4 Certificate in Fire Engineering Science, Fire Service Operations & Incident Command, Fire Safety, Aviation Fire Operations, Civil Emergency & Disaster Management, Leadership & Management in Fire and Rescue, Fire Investigation

Applications and exam fees from individual candidates should be received by the NZ Branch before 17 November 2017. The Institution cannot process applications received after the deadline so be sure to apply early.

You do not need to be a member of the Institution to apply to take IFE examinations.
