IN MEMORIAM - Jim McArthur
The Officers and Members of the Sumner Volunteer Fire Brigade convey their sincere condolences to the family of Jim McArthur – Chief Fire Officer (retired), Life Member and long-time supporter of the Brigade.
Jim served a total of 27.9 years in the Brigade, including four years as Chief Fire Officer. He was a Past-President of the Canterbury Provincial Fire Brigades Association and was well known throughout the country for his participation in the Sumner waterways competition team.
Jim will be farewelled at the Sumner Bowling Club at 11am on Monday 8 July. Parking at this venue is limited – some public parking is available at 33 Nayland St. Fire and Emergency NZ personnel are requested to wear full dress uniform to the funeral (medals, no caps).
