The results will be collated and shared with you within a couple of weeks.
About the survey
This survey is on safety, health and wellbeing. Safety, health and wellbeing is one of Fire and Emergency’s top organisational priorities – please take a few minutes and share your experiences with us.
This survey includes questions about physical and psychological safety, health and wellbeing and some of the factors that contribute to this. Completing pulse surveys is one small way you can help us measure our progress.
This survey takes around three minutes to complete.
It’s designed to give us a brief snapshot – ‘pulse check’ – of where we are at now, and how we are tracking overtime.
Responding to the survey
When a question refers to ‘Fire and Emergency’, this means the organisation we all work or volunteer for. We would like you to share your experiences as a member of your brigade, station, or team.
Answer with your immediate reaction and answer instinctively. Avoid spending a lot of time on questions pondering the answer.
The 'your say' pulse survey provides a brief snapshot in time and is designed to be shared quickly with our people. This is why we do not provide open text options.
Our ‘your say’ pulse surveys are an opportunity for people to provide feedback on safety, health and wellbeing experiences. They are not the only opportunity.
There are many other ways you can provide feedback including speaking with your manager or brigade leader.
Survey results
Our partner Ipsos is independently running the survey for us. They will ensure all responses are treated in the strictest confidence to maintain your confidentiality. Fire and Emergency will not receive individual survey responses, and we’ll only be able to report on and see responses at an aggregated level.
The Executive Leadership Team uses the survey results to assess progress against current initiatives and to inform future priorities and actions. Regional and Branch teams also use the results to guide decision-making and improvements in their respective areas.
Results are also shared with our unions and associations.
Survey themes
This is our second year of pulse surveys and we will repeat all three topics so that we can measure against last year’s results.
The themes are all about our people and it’s a chance for you to have ‘your say’ about your experience at Fire and Emergency. Each theme is directly linked to the strategic goals of our Tauākī Takune 2023–2027 Statement of Intent(external link)(external link).
