Have you experienced a wildfire in New Zealand’s native forests?

As part of its Extreme Wildfire(external link) programme, Scion is evaluating wildfire risk and flammability of Kauri, podocarp and beech forests.

Scion’s Fire and Atmospheric Sciences team has developed a questionnaire to capture people’s experiences with wildfires in native forests. The team is gathering experiential information to better understand the historical fire risk of native forests and what it may look like in the future.

If you have experienced a fire in a native forest or have seen a native forest act as a fire break, Scion would like to hear from you. The questionnaire should take no more than ten minutes.
