Firefighters recognised with King’s Birthday Honours

Fire and Emergency Board Chair Rebecca Keoghan has congratulated the four firefighters who have been celebrated in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours list. The recipients are:

• Ronald (Ron) Ealam (Oxford) - Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to Search and Rescue
• Marius Bron (Fox Glacier) - King’s Service Medal (KSM) for services to Search and Rescue and the community
• Gavin Dennis (Matatā) - King’s Service Medal (KSM) for services to Fire and Emergency New Zealand and the community
• Alan (Curly) Troon (Taihape) - King’s Service Medal (KSM) for services to Fire and Emergency New Zealand

‘You should all be incredibly proud of this well-earned achievement.’

Our people are regularly honoured twice a year, at New Year and King’s Birthday, when the King recognises citizens from Commonwealth countries for their exceptional service.
