This year’s Fieldays at Mystery Creek has a new addition to its site - the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Case tractor, decked out in our livery and fitted with a ladder, lights and sirens.

Fire and Emergency branded tractorThis tractor and its transportation are being sponsored by CB Norwood. The Fire and Emergency tractor, a symbol of the rural industry, will help us enter into conversations with rural communities about developing greater resilience, fire prevention and volunteer sustainability.

Rob Saunders, Manager National Risk Reduction, says the tractor signals our commitment to vegetation, home and building fire risk reduction in rural areas, noting a significant area of New Zealand is in our rural areas.

The Fire and Emergency tractor will also enable us to work collaboratively with the Police (who also have their own tractor), Farmers' Mutual Group and Federated Farmers to get key urban and rural fire messages across to the public.

Check out Fire and Emergency's Facebook page(external link) over the next few days for photos from the crew at Fieldays.
