We have added a new case study to our Feederlines series which features specific incidents or themes aimed at helping with continuous improvement in our operational response.

The new case study is 'Landslide'. This is a description of an event that took place in October 2024 in Otago. The officers and crew responding to an extreme weather event causing landslips remembered the Muriwai tragedy and applied the lessons from the Landslide Awareness training to their strategy and tactics. It’s a great example of a lesson learned.

Read the new case study on the Portal. The Feederlines series is on the Portal listed in alphabetical order.

The Feederlines series is developed by Des Hosie, our National Operations Advisor and Safety, Continuous Improvement and Lessons Management Lead from the Operational Assurance team. It invites operational personnel to think about how they would deal with a similar situation using their own training, knowledge and experience, and resources at hand.
