E-modules for all leader selection panel members
Leaders play a critical role in helping to create the organisation we want Fire and Emergency to be, so we’re improving how we select for Tier 2-5 leadership roles. As well as new selection criteria for people being appointed to these roles, we’re also supporting those on leader selection panels to upskill.
We’re asking anyone likely to be invited onto a selection panel for a Tier 2-5 people leader role to complete the new Selection Panel e-modules before 1 November. These modules cover updated practices and will help to ensure that everyone involved in the selection process is fully equipped to make informed, fair, and consistent decisions that align with our organisational goals and values.
From 1 November, only people who have completed all five e-modules will be eligible to sit on a selection panel for people leader roles.
To get started, log into Learning Station(external link) and type “SP” into the search box to locate the first module, SP1 – Selection Panel Basics. Please allow 120 minutes to complete all five.
A register of people who have completed the Selection Panel e-modules can be viewed here: Selection Panel module completion register(external link).
While not compulsory for panel members for other roles, anyone who would benefit from this development opportunity is welcome to complete these modules.
