Last week was Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu – National Volunteer Week. During the week Fire and Emergency said a big thank you to the 11,800+ people who generously give their time to volunteer as firefighters, operational support, medical first responders and brigade support.

Along with thanking volunteers, Fire and Emergency thanked the whānau, friends and employers of volunteers who are an essential part of the support crew.

Public campaign

Here’s what you may have missed during the week:

While National Volunteer Week may have finished this year, it’s never too late to thank volunteers, the whānau, friends and employers of volunteers for all they do. Often a heartfelt thank you only takes a few minutes, but it means a lot. Should you want some inspiration on how to say thank you, please check out the Portal: National Volunteer Week resources
