Celebrating Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa - Samoa Language Week 2025

This week is Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa - Samoa Language Week. 

The theme for this year is ‘Ia malu lou sā. Folau i lagimā – A well-grounded self, is a successful self’. This theme reminds us that those who are well-prepared and well-intentioned are equipped to face all of life’s challenges. 

At Fire and Emergency, we know that those who can see a fire before it starts(external link) are more prepared to mitigate potential fire risks in their fale (home). 

This winter, make sure you and your aiga (family) are practicing fire safe behaviours when using home appliances to stay warm such as electric blankets, dryers and heaters. 

Our uō (friends) in Te Hiku have put together some reminders of the importance of staying fire safe this winter.
