Leading projects like the Whanaungatanga Programme requires incredible passion and mahi.
Earlier this year, Senior Firefighter and Project Lead Josh Darby was awarded the Mental Health Champion award at the New Zealand Workplace Health and Safety Awards for his mahi on the Whanaungatanga Programme.
The Whanaungatanga Programme is dedicated to improving the wellbeing of our firefighters and commanders by addressing the organisational factors that contribute to mental ill-health. This collaborative effort involves career firefighters and managers working together, supported by world-leading researchers and clinicians, to create meaningful change.
Delivered in partnership with Movember, the New Zealand professional Firefighters Union (NZPFU) the Fire and Emergency Commanders Association (FECA) and evaluated by researchers from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), this programme is a testament to the power of collective effort.
Ka pai te mahi, Josh!
