Do you have a great idea for improving some aspect of Fire and Emergency NZ that aligns with current organisational strategy? Check out these two opportunities and send in your submission. Final reminder: submissions due in by Friday, 21 February.

The Firefighters’ Scholarship provides an opportunity to research or study a topic or undertake a project relevant to any area of Fire and Emergency NZ strategy and/or demostrates innovative approaches to contributing to the welfare of the organisation. 

Eligible applicants include career firefighters and officers (up to/including Senior Station Officers) and Comcen Communicators and Shift Managers who have a minimum of five years’ service. Applicants may be interested in considering the strategic areas of priority listed below.

 

The Len Doughty Fellowship provides an opportunity for operational and non operational recipients (both paid and volunteer, uniformed and non-uniformed) to travel overseas to research or study, or be seconded to an overseas Fire Service/organisation to gain first-hand experience of an innovative programme or project. Applicant proposals must be relevant to the strategic areas of priority listed below. The organisation may also elect to use the Fellowship to bring international expertise to New Zealand. 

Both opportunities offer a unique professional and personal development opportunity to Fire and Emergency people that will also be of significant benefit to Fire and Emergency.
