Burkes Pass Volunteer Fire Brigade and Mid-South Canterbury District advise of the passing of firefighter Alastair Munro on Saturday 29 October 2022

Alastair was a firefighter at Burkes Pass for 22 years.

Alastair was the Chairman of the South Canterbury Rural Fire Authority from its inception in 1998 to 2016. He was Chairman of the Mid-South Canterbury Rural Fire Authority from 1 April 2016 up to the transition to Fire and Emergency New Zealand in 2017.

A celebration of Alastair’s life will be held at ‘Airies’, 1707 Fairlie-Tekapo Road, Fairlie on Friday, November 4 at 1.30pm. Messages to 1707 Fairlie-Tekapo Road, Fairlie 7987.
