AFAC19 - Call for Abstracts
In August 2019, AFAC will be hosting "AFAC19 – A shift to the new norm: riding the wave of change." A call for abstracts has been announced and we invite any interested Fire and Emergency New Zealand personnel to submit an abstract for consideration.
AFAC19 will explore how the emergency management sector is transitioning to a new normality. The conference will focus on how our communities, environments and systems are evolving and adapting to change.
The six categories that AFAC19 will focus on are:
- Changing Culture
- Changing Communities
- Changing World
- Changing Ourselves
- Changing Tools
- Changing Capability

All Fire and Emergency NZ abstract submissions will be considered by a panel in early February, with a shortlist submitted to AFAC for its final decision. Abstracts must be submitted by the member agency (ie. Fire and Emergency). Abstracts submitted outside of this process by individuals may not be supported by the organisation.
If you wish to submit an abstract for consideration, send your submission to Mishaela Marsh (Mishaela.Marsh@fireandemergency.nz) no later than Friday 2 February 2019. Please ensure you include:
- Which category your abstract relates to
- Endorsement from your Area Manager/Tier 3 Manager to attend AFAC19 (if you are selected to speak).
