Otago District advise of the passing of Divisional Officer Terry Scott. Terry joined the New Zealand Fire Service as a career firefighter in December 1962. He first served in Christchurch and then moved to Dunedin in 1979 to take up the role of Divisional Officer.
Katikati Volunteer Fire Brigade advise of the passing of Gold Star recipient and Life Member Frank Bethell on 23 December 2022. Frank served from 1964 to 1989. A service has been held.
Okato Volunteer Fire Brigade advise the passing of Raymond (Ray) William Rook, on Sunday 8 January. Ray was the founding Chief Fire Officer of the Okato Brigade upon its formation in 1954.
