For nearly a decade, members of the Taradale Volunteer Fire Brigade, along with the Flaxmere and Napier Community Patrols, have joined forces to bring fire safety education to communities across Hawke’s Bay.
Since the age of 15, Connor McLellan dreamt of becoming a firefighter. That wish came true in 2019, when Connor joined Fire and Emergency, starting out at the Trentham Fire Station in the Hutt Valley.
Every year, approximately 20,000 Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) workers come to Aotearoa New Zealand to contribute to our horticulture industry. Many of these workers come from island nations in the South Pacific, bringing with them unique perspectives on fire safety.
