The Collective Agreement agreed between Fire and Emergency New Zealand and New Zealand Professional Firefighters Union (NZPFU) advises a review of market rates in May of each year the agreement remains in force. The 2017 market rates have been reviewed using the same approach that was agreed in 2013.
