Omakau Volunteer Fire Brigade announce the passing of ex CFO Sam Leask. Sam joined the brigade in September 1974, rising to the rank of Chief Fire Officer. Sam stepped down as CFO in 2014 and remained active in the brigade until October 2020.

Waitematā District wishes to advise of the passing of retired firefighter Larry (Tolly) Tolliday on Sunday 15 December. Tolly completed 49 years of service with Fire and Emergency New Zealand. He spent all his career in Auckland, starting on 13 March 1972 at Mt Wellington.
Last week, Fire and Emergency Board formally established two new LACs in Bay of Plenty and Whanganui-Manawatū, appointing 16 new committee members.
