The Rangiora Volunteer Fire Brigade would like to acknowledge with sadness the passing of Retired Chief Fire Officer Don Hassall QFSM. Don was an integral member of the brigade and was very active within the Brigade until his passing.
Wellington Operational Support Unit advise of the passing of Ron Lennon. Ronald Dereck Lennon served as member of the Wellington Fire Service Support Unit from 1998 to 2013, holding the rank of Fire Officer in the unit from 2000 to 2013.
Our latest campaign creatively shows our volunteers in their operational gear at their place of work. It conveys how our volunteers are willing to rush off to serve their communities during their work day and that for them and their employers, volunteering is 'all in a day's work'.
It is with great sadness that Blackmount Volunteer Fire Brigade advise the passing of DCFO Michael McLees. Mike was a valued member of the Blackmount Voluntary Rural Fire Force and latterly the Blackmount Volunteer Fire Brigade.
On 4 July, a faulty multiplug ignited a house fire in Marton, in the Manawatū-Whanganui district. Luckily the house was a stone’s throw from the Marton fire station and help arrived in record time.
