Wellington District advise the passing of Russell Postlewaight (MNZM) on Saturday 27th July 2024 at his home surrounded by his much-loved family. Russell was a long servicing member of Fire and Emergency NZ, joining Lower Hutt Fire Brigade in 1972 before transferring to Wellington in 1975.
The Palmerston North Fire Brigade advises of the passing of Maurice (Morrie) Charles Gore, peacefully at Julia Wallace Retirement Village, Palmerston North on the 18 July. Morrie was a founding member of the Bunnythorpe Volunteer Fire Brigade in April 1965.
Waitematā District advises the passing of Lionel Timmo. Ex Station Officer Timmo has served on many stations based around the western district. Lionel requested that there was to be no funeral service, but a small memorial was held on Tuesday 2nd of July 2024

Wellington District advise the passing of Samuel Kingi McGregor at his Rest Home on Monday 15 July 2024 at the age of 86. Sam joined the New Zealand Fire Service as a volunteer at the Matamata Volunteer Fire Brigade in 1965 before transferring to the Petone Volunteer Brigade.

Riverton Volunteer Fire Brigade advise the passing of ex CFO Thomas Edgar (ED) Finnie. Ed joined Riverton Brigade in 1947 and was Chief Fire Officer from 1965-66. A private burial will be held on Thursday for Ed.
The Ōkaihau Volunteer Fire Brigade advises of the passing of Life Member Richard (Dick) Tohu. Dick joined the brigade in 1997 as a Fire Fighter and then transitioned to Operational Support before retiring in 2020.
