For nearly a decade, members of the Taradale Volunteer Fire Brigade, along with the Flaxmere and Napier Community Patrols, have joined forces to bring fire safety education to communities across Hawke’s Bay.

Every year, approximately 20,000 Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) workers come to Aotearoa New Zealand to contribute to our horticulture industry. Many of these workers come from island nations in the South Pacific, bringing with them unique perspectives on fire safety.

On 4 July, a faulty multiplug ignited a house fire in Marton, in the Manawatū-Whanganui district. Luckily the house was a stone’s throw from the Marton fire station and help arrived in record time.
