The unnecessary death of young New Zealanders in motor vehicle crashes takes a toll not only on families and communities, but on emergency services personnel. Earlier this year the Rolleston and Lincoln Volunteer Fire Brigades decided to do something about it.
From deployments to North America to remembering the firefighters of 9/11 and stressing the importance of smoke alarms and detectors, there’s been a lot going on this month. Here’s some of the great stories which have been in the media showing the fantastic work we’ve been doing here at Fire Emergency NZ.
Nearly 100 firefighters returned from the North American deployments over the weekend of September 8-9, after spending the best part of seven weeks away from their families.
