Please be advised of the passing of former New Zealand Fire Services Fire Commissioner Fenton Brian Hyland (Brian) O. B. E. Q. F. S. M. F. I. F. E. on Thursday 19 December 2024 at Whanganui, aged 94.
Omakau Volunteer Fire Brigade announce the passing of ex CFO Sam Leask. Sam joined the brigade in September 1974, rising to the rank of Chief Fire Officer. Sam stepped down as CFO in 2014 and remained active in the brigade until October 2020.
Waitematā District wishes to advise of the passing of retired firefighter Larry (Tolly) Tolliday on Sunday 15 December. Tolly completed 49 years of service with Fire and Emergency New Zealand. He spent all his career in Auckland, starting on 13 March 1972 at Mt Wellington.
It is with great sadness that the Paraparaumu Fire Brigade advise of the passing of former CFO Wayne Sarjeant QSM.
Wayne passed away on Saturday 7 December 2024 surrounded by his family in Nelson. The family have held a private service for Wayne.
Hawke’s Bay district wishes to advise with a heavy heart the passing of retired firefighter Graeme “Daisy” Day on Monday 2 December. Daisy completed over 52 years of service with Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

Wellington District wishes to advise with great sadness the passing of retired firefighter Ross David Bridgeman, aged 70 years old. Ross dedicated over 20 years of service to then New Zealand Fire Service, joining Wainuiomata on 25 October 1973.
