AFAC has now extended the date for submitting nomination forms to 23 July 2020.

Nominations are open for the AFAC and Motorola Solution Foundation ‘Knowledge Innovation Award’. There are two awards, Individual and Agency, and Fire and Emergency can submit one nomination for each category.

Individual award

In recognition of the innovation, creativity, and contribution that an individual staff member or volunteer has made to the advancement of knowledge management and/or research utilisation in their agency or jurisdiction.

The award winner will be sponsored by Motorola Solutions Foundation to attend a conference of their choice to the value of $2,500. This may include conference registration fees, travel, accommodation, and sundry expenses.

Agency award

In recognition of an AFAC member agency to assist with growing an industry culture that supports knowledge creation and evidence-based decision making. Nominations can be Fire and Emergency projects that have demonstrated commitment to ensuring that knowledge management and/or research utilisation is an accepted and valued management practice.

The winning agency will have their name placed on a perpetual trophy that will be displayed in the AFAC office, and will also receive a plaque in recognition of their efforts.
