Kōrero with Russell Wood and Gareth Hughes, Paearu Mahi
This week marks a significant milestone for the Paearu Mahi project, as it moves into business as usual within our Learning and Development branch.
Paearu Mahi is a unique and exciting programme. It has been developed to provide the National Commander with assurance that our senior ranked officers are competent to lead our more serious incidents - and keep our people and our communities safe.
Recently Kerry Gregory sat down with Russell Wood and Gareth Hughes to talk about the Paearu Mahi pilot. Russell talked about the purpose of the project and Gareth shared what it was like being part of the initial pilot.
Paearu Mahi is a great example of Fire and Emergency’s commitment to growing our people and a key step in our senior ranked officer development pathway – ka mau te wehi!
