It’s that time of year again for this years Pirongia Trail Run(external link). We’ve all no doubt been inspired to become Olympians for Los Angeles 2028 and this is the first step in your training.

The PTR is a project of the Kiwi Challenge Foundation, a charitable trust with the aim of promoting active and healthy living to Kiwis, with a particular focus on tamariki and rangatahi. We’re all about providing a challenge that connects people with movement and nature.

PTR24 kicks off on the 16th of November. Bring yourself and your whanau down to the might Waikato and take on the maunga.

Held on Pirongia maunga, you’ll find yourself immersed in NZ bush and in a constant battle between gravity and not totally eating it, but that’s what makes it fun! Whether you have the need-for-speed or the-need-for-a-feed, there’s an option for all ages and abilities. There are four distance options available; 3km, 8km, 13.5km and 36.5km and also the option to not do it which probably appeals to plenty.

We’ve got a whanau discount for FENZ that you and yours are most welcome to use, simply enter the code ‘FENZ24PTR’ during the registration process to sort that out. Tu meke. Some events are limited by numbers, so if you don’t want to miss out, get in now.

If you’ve got any burning questions, email info@pirongiatrailrun.com or call Josh on 022 673 8780
