When to wear a mask and eye protection
You must wear a mask and eye protection
- at all medical incident responses where you are likely to treat the patient or come into close contact with the patient or family (along with additional COVID-19 PPE if deemed necessary), OR
- when responding to any incident type or when in attendance at an aged care facility or community care facility.
You do not need to wear a mask and eye protection
- for any other situations when dealing with members of the public, such as at PFAs or other community-based activities.
Note: You must still use appropriate PPE for other incident types according to policy before COVID-19, for example while attending an MVA, etc.
