We’re working closely with Ministry of Health (MoH) to make sure all operational Fire and Emergency people in Group 2 can access the vaccine if they choose to be vaccinated.

Out of Proximity refers to any brigades that MedPro (3rd Party vaccine provider) have not been able to reach.

To reach eligible people/brigades that sit outside of MedPro proximity areas, MoH has asked us to supply them with personal information for eligible members of these brigades. MoH will pass this information securely to the relevant District Health Boards, who will use it to invite individuals to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Personal information to be shared

  • full name
  • date of birth
  • position within the organisation
  • The suburb of your Fire and Emergency place of work (e.g. the Fire Station)
  • home address
  • email address
  • mobile number

If you are eligible and do not want Fire and Emergency to provide your information to MoH, you can choose to opt out. Opting out means we will not supply any information about you to MoH.

If you have already received the vaccination or have an appointment to receive it, you can also opt out.

If you do want the vaccination via this process, no need to do anything. You will be contacted and offered the vaccine when it is available in your area.

How to opt out

Email Service Deliver Coordination Centre SDCC@fireandemergency.nz by Wednesday 28 July 2021. Make sure your full name (as per our records) and OPT OUT are clearly stated in the email.

Opting out will prevent you from being vaccinated against COVID-19 as Fire and Emergency operational personnel. However, there may be additional opportunities to be vaccinated against COVID-19. If you sit within another priority group, you may be contacted by your normal healthcare provider. Additionally, walk-in clinics will be available when the vaccine is rolled-out to the general public.

If you have any questions about this, you can contact the Service Delivery Covid-19 Vaccine on 0272935766 or SDCC@fireandemergency.nz.
